Ordering LS Swap Parts to Ontario: Build a Complete Checkout Record
Posted by High Performance Injectors on
Before ordering an LS swap harness to Ontario, save a record of what you are buying, why it matches and which charges are included. A product screenshot alone leaves out important details. A complete order record helps you compare offers, receive the correct parts and resolve questions later.
This is especially useful when you supply parts to a workshop. The person unpacking the harness should be able to find the same application details you used when ordering, rather than trying to reconstruct them from a short payment receipt.
Record the application before the price
Save the exact product link and its fitment notes. Record your engine, transmission and throttle details alongside any written compatibility advice. Note adapter requests or other instructions that need to appear on the order.
A generic description such as “LS harness” is not enough to distinguish similar products. Include the selected connector configuration and any installation procedure called out by the listing. Ask about uncertainties before payment rather than relying on the order notes to request an unconfirmed custom arrangement.
Keep currency consistent
Select Canada/CAD in the store and verify the currency shown at checkout. If you compare prices with another supplier, convert the comparison into one currency and account for included parts. A smaller number labelled with a dollar sign may not represent the lower Canadian cost.
Use the current checkout total, not an older blog price, for your budget. HPI’s Canadian landing page provides shopping information, but product prices and available delivery options should be checked for the order you are actually placing.
Separate the cost categories
Record product subtotal, shipping and any tax or duty collected at checkout as separate lines. Do not assume a shipping fee includes every import-related charge. CBSA’s mail and courier guidance explains that imported goods are assessed for applicable duties and taxes.
If you are unsure whether a carrier may collect additional handling or brokerage charges, ask before ordering. Keep any later carrier invoice with the purchase record rather than comparing it against the product subtotal alone.
Confirm the delivery details
Use the actual Ontario delivery address and postal code. If the order will go to your installer, obtain permission and confirm the recipient information, receiving hours and contact details. Do not assume a workshop can accept or store your parcel whenever the carrier arrives.
A stated dispatch time is different from arrival at the installation address. Ask for available information without treating an unconfirmed date as guaranteed. Schedule installation around received and checked parts when possible.
Inspect before altering the product
Compare the delivered harness and accessories with the order. Photograph a discrepancy and contact HPI before cutting, repinning or otherwise changing the item to make it fit. Follow the supplied instructions for authorized installation steps.
Review the warranty and returns policy before installation. Keep packaging and documentation until the contents have been checked and any questions are resolved.
A compact record to keep
- Build specification and fitment correspondence.
- Exact product link and selected application.
- Order number, CAD checkout totals and adapter notes.
- Shipping confirmation and tracking information.
- Receiving check and any supplier follow-up.
That small amount of preparation gives both you and your installer a clear reference when the project moves from shopping to assembly.
